Integrated Board Leadership Process

Integrated Board Leadership Process

The Integrated Board Leadership Process provides a proven and transformational approach to identify, develop and reinforce the abilities of directors, trustees and boards to be highly effective in their performance. For the funders of 501(c) organizations, our process also supports due diligence criteria often used when deciding to fund those nonprofits, foundations or universities who take their responsibility of being accountable serious. Whether you are receiving funding or donating to the cause, directors’ engagement in our Integrated Board Leadership Process will directly affect the lives of the millions of Americans who rely on the good work of philanthropic organizations and their leaders.

Some 501(c) organizations are operated as nonprofit organizations with a board of directors, others as trusts or foundations and universities with boards of trustees. The size and sophistication of the organization and the size and function of the board will determine the number of committees, how often they meet, and the frequency by which a full board will come together. All elements of the board infrastructure must work together effectively in order for the board to achieve a high level of performance. The individual contributor, the committees and the board all play a pivotal role in the effective governance of the nonprofit organization in fulfilling its mission.

The Integrated Board Leadership Process is designed to assist directors and boards, as well as the board secretary, in developing and maintaining high performance in areas such as board and director leadership development, succession planning and risk oversight. This process helps to position the board to address present and future sustainability issues designed to protect the clients of the nonprofit, foundation and university organizations.
