Academic trustee Relationships

Academic institutions are challenged with many of the same issues that public corporations face today. Such as, the need for new revenue sources and increasing competition, resulting from technological advancements and changing demographics.

University/College trustees are expected to provide leadership and assist in sourcing funds necessary for the continued viability of the institution. The trustees are traditionally nominated by the Trustees Committee on Nominations and then elected at the Annual Meeting of Members.

The Trustees have the responsibility to:
  • Select and nurture the chief executive officer.
  • make legal and fiduciary decisions for the corporation;
  • approve the mission, strategic goals, and objectives;
  • establish policies related to membership, programs, and services and approve the annual budget and major program fees; and
  • advise the president, who is responsible for the management of the organization.

Serving as a university trustee provides an opportunity to engage in deep intellectual and philosophical discussions regarding many of the significant challenges and opportunities facing educators and students. These are issues which will profoundly impact the future of our education system and ultimately, our society.

XCEO, Inc. considers its relationships with universities and colleges as a value added offering in support of our clients.
